Newsletter 1-18-18

Friday, JANUARY 26th is an EARLY RELEASE DAY. Dismissal is at 11:45.

MATH:
We are finishing a unit about 3D shapes and starting a unit on numbers 11-15!

SCIENCE:
We are learning about animals and their habitats.

SOCIAL STUDIES:
This week we are learning about the Olympics.

READING:
Over the week, we have been learning our letters, upper and lowercase, and their sounds. We are also working on ending sounds. We are doing a Tacky book study.

WRITING:
We are starting a new writing unit.  Each child is adding sentences to their fabulous drawings! We are writing a complete sentence!

Newsletter 1-8-18

FRIDAY, JANUARY 12th is an EARLY RELEASE DAY. Dismissal is at 11:45.
MONDAY, JANUARY 15th is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, THERE IS NO SCHOOL!

SCHOLASTIC:
Orders are due in by Friday, January 12th.

MATH:
We are working on a unit about 3D shapes!

SCIENCE:
We are learning about animals and their habitats.

READING:

Newsletter 12-21-17

THERE IS NO SCHOOL DECEMBER 23rd-- JANUARY 1st ! School resumes on January 2nd, 2018!

We have filled up our warm and fuzzy jar!  The class is celebrating with a “Fuzzy Day” on Friday, December 22nd .  We are going to wear our pajamas and bring in one stuffy from home.

We are worked and played with our third grade buddies today on the First Day of Winter!

We have a lot of vacation celebration: Andrew turns 6! Grayson, Leo and Ethan celebrate their half birthdays (we will be out on summer vacation on their real birthdays).  We will be celebrating all four birthdays tomorrow in the classroom!

MATH:
We are finishing a on a unit about 2D shapes!

SCIENCE:
We are learning about animals and their habitats. We are also studying hibernation.

SOCIAL STUDIES:
This week we are learning about families and homes through a gingerbread literacy themed unit. We will be making gingerbread houses with non food items tomorrow in class!

READING:
Over the week, we have been learning our letters, upper and lowercase, and their sounds. We are also working on ending sounds. We did a Jan Brett author study. We are now doing a gingerbread literacy theme!

WRITING:
We are published a new piece of writing.  Next week we are working on special gingerbread stories.
